Frequently Asked Questions How may BCST differ from other body therapies? It deeply acknowledges and trusts in the natural intelligence of our bodies to self repair. Our health is an expression  of the unity of all levels of our being. BCST harmonizes the physical body, mind and spirit. BCST understands that each client has an unique set of circumstances and healing requirements; it respects each clients priorities for healing.  It is gentle and non invasive. No force or physical manipulation are used.  Although it is useful to have knowledge of potential causes of issues and symptoms, it is not essential. The intelligence of a client’s body will express its healing needs. Therapy can resolve the deeply stored physical and emotional elements of past overwhelming or traumatic experiences that can be at the root cause of issues and symptoms. BCST empowers a client to reconnect to their physical body and health. Can BCST work for chronic conditions? Yes. A core principle of BCST is that health is always present in our body (even if it has been overlaid with experiences). When conditions have been present for a long time, they still have the possibility to move to greater states of health or completely resolve as the blue print for optimal health is always present throughout our lives. What are the effects following a therapy session? Most clients experience pleasant effects following therapy such as feeling calm, lighter, relaxed, grounded or a state of greater wellness. Sometimes as the mind and body has made positive shifts during therapy there may be a brief period of tiredness, or detox symptoms as the body integrates the changes. Sometimes a client notices immediate improvements at the end of the session but more often clients become aware of changes in the following days, weeks and even months as the changes made in the therapy session will take time to integrate. It is useful to be patient with your healing process and trust that your body knows how to heal. Are there any requirements between therapy sessions? Take it easy for the next couple of days and drink plenty of water to help the body flush out toxins.  When a client experiences disconnect from their body, I often recommend a simple self awareness meditation. How many sessions  are required? Many factors affect how  a person responds to therapy and the quantity of sessions required. These include the nature of symptoms and conditions, lifestyle factors, how a person processes stress and  life experiences.  Improvements can be fast (over 1 – 3 session), clients often report feeling lighter, more relaxed, less pain, having more energy and better sleep patterns. In situations when issues or symptoms have become chronic and involve multiple body systems needing to heal and harmonise, it is more likely that there is a gradual movement towards improved health over a period of months. How can positive outcomes be optimised? Often clients experience greater shifts in their wellbeing when they are initially able to have regular weekly therapy . Following improvements or resolution of issues, clients may want to continue therapy ( with less frequency) as part of their holistic health maintenance plan.  Can BCST be used to prevent issues and health ailments? BCST is profoundly preventative, addressing many subclinical states before they develop into more severe or chronic conditions. BCST is also a great therapy for sports people to support performance and aid recovery. You don’t need to be ill to experience the benefits of BCST. Regular therapy can support us to function at our best throughout life.
